UX Case Study

The Brief

At the end of my UX/UI Bootcamp at Ironhack a colleague and I were entrusted with an application called Innvertir, whose purpose is to educate inexperienced people on the subject of Web 3 through games and tutorials. The challenge was not easy, we had only two weeks to complete it.

UX Research

Basing us on the Design Thinking model, my partner and I spent part of the first week of the project empathizing with the user's needs and the context in which our product was found.

As a result of this research, we found out that, of 29 respondents and 5 interviewees, Web 3 and cryptocurrencies were a very interesting topic for many. However, when buying or investing in a digital asset, users decided not to. The reason for this rested on two main points:

  1. They did not fully understand how to make a transaction through exchange applications.

  2. They considered Web 3 and cryptocurrencies to be very dangerous.

An example of this can be seen in Daniela, an art teacher who said the following:

Cryptocurrencies are a scam. I don't know why people want to invest in this type of thing”.

The problem

Given this type of testimonials, we realized that the main problem of our project was summed up in the following:

Users interested in cryptocurrencies need to learn about the operation and benefits of Web 3 in order to be able to invest and carry out operations within it without feeling mistrust.

User persona

This problematic not only encouraged us to make this empathy map:

It also gave us the change to do an User Persona, as you can see in the image below:

Accompanied by this analysis, my partner and I made an Affinity Map:

It was thanks to this that we were able to rescue the following design opportunities:

*The user needs an application with a colorful design that motivates him to learn.

*The application needs educational videos to stimulate learning.

These insights became a crucial piece during prototyping, since it was during this phase that we specified the visual styles that the app was going to carry, as can be seen in the Style Tyle of the project:

High Fidelity Prototype

At the end of this process, my colleague and I created Innvertir, a movil app that guides you into subjects as Web 3 and criptocurrency. Our app seeks to teach in a fun way, so in each facet the user is accompanied by a series of characters called minvu, whose objective is to make the learning experience more enjoyable.

Check out the prototype below:

Next steps

To continue the development of the Innvertir mobile app, we plan to add an NFTs marketplace (from Minnvus in this case), create a community as well as improve the cryptocurrency exchange process.
